It’s the perfect setting for a romantic getaway at sea: Caribbean breezes, clear blue skies, passionate nights, and murder? Not exactly what Detective Charlie McClung and Marian had in mind for their honeymoon. When one of their fellow passengers is murdered on her 35th wedding anniversary, Charlie and Marian get pulled into the investigation. Who would want to kill poor Tammy Ferguson in such a brutal way? As Charlie uncovers more sordid details about Tammy and her husband, Peter, it becomes clear that someone else has found the same skeletons in the Ferguson’s closet and Tammy has paid the price. Scott E. Tarbet
Scott E. Tarbet writes what fires his imagination: the broad umbrella of speculative fiction. He is especially intrigued by how human beings react to and interact with science, technology, and other magics.

Educator, chef, professional opera singer, and Steampunk craftsman, with a long list of short stories and other works to his credit, he makes his home in the splendor of the Utah mountains with his wife and best friend, Jewels.

TC Phillips
TC Phillips hails from tropical central Queensland in Australia, where he currently lives with his loving wife, three young children, a spoilt cat, and an overactive imagination. An avid reader from a young age, he has held a long-standing attraction for the written word and is excited to make his own contributions to the vibrant and ever shifting world of storytelling. Holding degrees in both Theatre Studies and Education, he is also currently completing his Master of Arts (writing) through Swinburne University of Technology.

C. R. Simper
C. R. Simper is an Arizona native who graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Purchasing and Logistics Management. She married another Arizona native in 1991 and is now the stay-at-home mom of three daughters and one son. Simper has written in multiple genres over the past three decades. She has found that writing maintains a sense of order in her life. Her first published story, “The Journey of Inspector Roux” appeared in Terra Mechanica: a Steampunk Anthology (2014), another Xchyler publication.

Other hobbies that she enjoys are playing volleyball, genealogical research, and indexing obituaries. She is a member of the American Night Writers Association (ANWA).

Danielle E. Shipley
Danielle E. Shipley's first novelettes told the everyday misadventures of wacky kids like herself. Or so she thought. Unbeknownst to them all, half of her characters were actually closeted elves, dwarves, fairies, or some combination thereof. When it all came to light, Danielle did the sensible thing: packed up and moved to Fantasy Land, where daily rent is the low, low price of her heart, soul, blood, sweat, tears, firstborn child, sanity, and words; lots of them. Shipley has also been known to spend short bursts of time in the real-life Chicago area with the parents who home-schooled her and the two little sisters who keep her humble. When she's not living the highs and lows of writing, publishing, and all that authorial jazz, she's probably blogging about it at EverOnWord.wordpress.com.

This is her third appearance in a Xchyler anthology, following the paranormal "Two Spoons" in Legends and Lore, and "Reality As We Know It" in fantasy collection The Toll of Another Bell. Other publications include Inspired (a novel), and a series of fairy-tale retelling mash-ups, The Wilderhark Tales.

Sarah E. Seeley
Through two wonderful mentored research experiences, Sarah E. Seeley had the opportunity to work with dead sauropods and ancient odonates while acquiring her undergraduate degree in geology from Brigham Young University. She hopes to study more dead things in the future and contribute to scientific discussions about what makes life on Earth so amazing. In the meantime, she explores the bright side of being human by writing dark fiction.
Seeley's independently published works include Maladaptive Bind and Blood Oath: An Orc Love Story. Sarah's short story "Peradventure" appears in Xchyler Publishing's Legends and Lore: An Anthology of Mythic Proportions. Another short story, "Driveless," appears in Leading Edge Magazine Issue #66. Kin Law
Living in the bustle of NYC, Kin is constantly reminded he is a child of two worlds. Originally from Hong Kong, he's traveled both geographically and socially, working in many professions including movie projection and line cooking. He has degrees in Media and Culinary Arts, and a great love of Philosophy. As for fiction, his favorite authors are Douglas Adams, Hemmingway, and Chuck Pahlaniuk.

Today, Kin is a culinary copywriter, intent on furthering his novelist career. He loves his fiancée, his cat Zoe, Scotch, bacon and coffee. Addressing himself in the third person makes him chuckle.

John M. Olsen
John M. Olsen has been creating things his whole life through a mixture of technical and creative processes, whether building family, stories, art, software, woodworking or anything else. He has dreams of becoming a Renaissance man and loves to learn new things to add to his store of randomly accessible information (otherwise known as irrelevant trivia). Writing is one of his loves, inspired by having read most of his father’s extensive fantasy and science fiction collection in his teen years.

He builds high-end simulation software, and has contributed chapters to several books on computer graphics and game design, as well as publishing fiction in multiple genres.
He lives in Utah with his wife and five children, some of whom are old enough to have moved out and back in. Together they have also raised three nieces and a nephew, and are minions of their benevolent cat overlord.

She’s tried not doing it, but it never works for long, her brain gets itchy if she hasn’t written anything for a couple of days. AUTHOR TOP 10

C. R. Simper
Favorite Things

- Quote "A ship in the harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for."
Attributed to John A Shedd. Salt from my Attic. 1928. It's a good reminder that
talents need to be shared in spite of fears.

- TV show  My current favorite TV show is "Forever" staring Ioan Gruffudd.

- Comic book character  If I say I don't read comic books, don't take it as an affront to the genre. I am a "word" person, not an "image" person, and comic books just
don't work for me. I did recently buy James Owen's Starchild, which seems to be a
unique mix of both.

- Movie  Sherlock Holmes and sequel with Robert Downey Jr.; Guardians of the
Galaxy. (Seriously, when else have you ever left the theater with a movie-crush on a
raccoon?)

- Book  My kid-heart would break if I didn't say "The Silver Chair, by C. S. Lewis".
Fortunately I read enough as a child/teen to make up for the fact that I can't really
get into books as an adult. The last book I rather enjoyed was John Grisham's
Playing for Pizza. Italy + Football + A little-bit-of-romance, what's not to love?

- Candy bar  Heath or Score.

- Junk food  Salsa Verde Doritos

- Place you visited San Ignacio, Belize.

- Restaurant  New Mexican Grill, Gilbert, AZ

- Island  Cay Caulker, Belize, as it is the only island I have ever visited that didn't
require me to cross a terrifying bridge to get there. (Thanks, Coronado Island. Yes, I
did prefer a 12-seater plane ride.)

Three Sisters (An Emily Castle Mystery) by Helen Smith

* I received this book in exchange for an honest review*

This book was so funny, quirky, and fast paced. Not a very long read, but it is one that you will want to finish once you get started. The first few pages were kind of slow for me, but after that it sped up and I didn't want to stop reading until the very end! Emily Castles is such a quirky little thing, that I never knew what she was going to say next. She did gripe about her dog dying a little too much in my opinion though. But, after it all, I will definitely be checking out the rest of the Emily Castle Mystery Series! I give this book a SOLID 4 STARS!!

Book Synopsis from Amazon:

Three Sisters introduces twenty-six year old amateur sleuth Emily Castles in this entertaining new mystery series from bestselling British author Helen Smith.

Emily receives an invitation to a party in a large house at the end of her street, hosted by a mysterious troupe of circus performers. She accepts, despite her misgivings, because her dog has died and she needs cheering up. But when she witnesses a murder in the midst of the surreal entertainment, no one will believe what she has seen. Is Emily befuddled with grief at the loss of her pet? Or has something wicked happened in plain sight of all the party-goers? Emily and her eccentric neighbors attempt to discover the truth in a charming story that will have you giggling at every funny line.

This short mystery is a standalone story set in London. The Emily Castles mysteries can be read in any order.

Visions (The Mystical Encounter #1) by Kimberly Readnour

*I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review *

This is the first book that I have read from Kimberly Readnour and I have to say that I was very impressed! I felt so bad for Heather at the start of this book at how rejected she was for having such a useful gift. Once she got involved in a very heart wrenching situation, she showed her strength. The book as a whole was awesome and all the characters were well rounded. I can't wait to find out what happens in the next one!! I give this book a solid 5 STARS!!

Book Synopsis from Amazon:
Heather Reiner is not your typical teenager. Her abilities reach far beyond the norm, and she’s just beginning to discover the possibilities.

Growing up different from her peers has not been easy. Ridiculed by classmates, Heather moves to another state, but soon realizes she can’t run from a problem that begins within.

A guy from her new school, Barry, is captivated the first time he sees her. Determined to know her better, he learns her layers of complication run deep. With persistence, he chips away at her shield until each protective layer starts unveiling itself.

Heather wants a chance to be normal, but secrets never stay hidden forever. They reveal themselves when least expected. Is normalcy obtainable, or will the mystery about herself be discovered? And if discovered, will Barry be like everyone else and turn away?

Visions is book one of a young adult mystery thriller trilogy.

About the Author:

Kimberly Readnour from Amazon:
I have always enjoyed reading books, but within the last five years discovered my passion for writing. Ever since childhood, I imagined writing a novel, but never took the time to pick up a pen. Oops, showing my age... I mean laptop. When my daughter reached her teenage years, I found my reason to start composing those stories.

I worked for fifteen years as a Registered Nurse before hanging-up my stethoscope. Now, I run my own business while continuing to write during any downtime.

I'm blessed with a wonderful husband and two children. The dynamics in our household changed when my oldest left for college, but I can't say it was bad. Different, but definitely not bad. Each stage of life has been amazing, as to which I'm truly grateful.
